The Pied Piper who was encouraged by society to lead rats to the river; also led dancing children to a world of hope. With my flute like awareness, I have led young adults from around the world to their creative destiny. The Design (creative) field, like the parents in this story has lost its interest in human communication. One has to “Pay the Piper” which means you have to communicate or you will loose your most precious values. Communicating with the Pied Piper is the epitome of “creativity.”
Our environment today creates illusions of “information.” People are confusing “information” with education and the verbal + visual do not align. I can make that happen! I have the ability to provide Creative Direction and pull the strings on complex design programs that involve multiple stakeholders, suppliers and creative teams. It’s not about doing it all yourself but it’s about conducting an orchestra.
I have developed a theory, The Democratization of Creativity™ which speaks another language. To have a language you need content. My theory is about communicating and being able to sustain communication to wake up the mind. Making someone laugh is the 1st step to listening. It can be described as conceptual, authentic, creative, flexible, free, passionate, and curious. The theory is about getting people to start thinking rather than just accepting. The connections made from design can then be discussed in a more civilized way—prompting discussions that bring people closer together and [allow them to] work together. Rather than induce fear and loathing, induce interconnectivity. Make joy for people to exchange. Once you open that, you have a great society going. That’s how The Democratization of Creativity™ can work. It is devoted to the invention and development of useful, inviting ideas and objects. Objects designed for everyday use change in response to the conditions of living. Throughout history it has been very clear that people respond enthusiastically to authentic experiences.
Design aims at making life better. Design encourages us to discover the different dimensions of culture and pleasure; and helps to calm an unsettled world. It is one thing to study design, and quite another to live the designers’ life.
The Democratization of Creativity™ is for the people, of the people, and by the people...sensation, space, time and causality.
